Updated: Mar 7, 2019

Fenimore Art Museum to Support Eastman Johnson Catalogue Raisonne Project Funded by The Mr. and Mrs. Raymond J. Horowitz Foundation for the Arts

Shannon's was so excited to learn that the works of Eastman Johnson are going to be documented in a Catalogue Raisonne Project directed by Patricia Hills. The project is anticipated to be a publicly accessible website database, and we couldn't be more thrilled to hear that news.

Catalogues Raisonnes are important documents for historians, scholars, collectors and dealers. We regularly reference them to check provenance, dates and learn about the biography and progression of an artist's work. This project is going to bring that research into the 21st century!

We have sold several Eastman Johnson's throughout the years. Here are a few of our favorites!

Right to left: The Card Players (sold for $168,000), The Boy Lincoln (sold for $90,000), Study After a Lullaby (sold for $14,100)
